Supam Maheshwari, sometimes dubbed India’s Elon Musk, is the mastermind behind the success of GlobalBees Brands Ltd., XpressBees, and the pioneering online baby care products company, FirstCry.

Who is Supam Maheshwari?

Hailing from India, Supam Maheshwari co-founded Brainvisa Technologies alongside Amitava Saha. However, his entrepreneurial journey truly took flight with FirstCry, which he launched under BrainBees after the acquisition of Brainvisa Technologies. Additionally, he played a pivotal role as a founding member of Xpressbees, a prominent logistics services startup.

Maheshwari pursued his education at Apeejay School and later earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He further honed his skills with a PGDM from IIM-Ahmedabad.

The Genesis of FirstCry:

Driven by his own challenges as a parent in finding premium baby care products, Maheshwari founded FirstCry. Recognizing the market gap for quality products, he co-founded BrainBees Solutions with Amitava Saha in 2010, launching the flagship brand, FirstCry.

Initially an online platform, FirstCry expanded rapidly with physical stores nationwide. In the fiscal year 2022, the company recorded operating revenue exceeding 24 billion Indian rupees, marking a significant growth trajectory.

Maheshwari’s Impact and Net Worth

Supam Maheshwari’s entrepreneurial ventures have propelled him to a net worth of $190 million, equivalent to approximately Rs 1,579 crore. Residing in Pune with his wife and daughter, Maheshwari’s brainchild, FirstCry, remains a dominant force in the online baby goods retail sector, valued at $2.7 billion post a strategic investment led by Wipro’s Azim Premji Investment last year.
