  1. KAFF India is pleased to announce Shital Gupta as its new CEO 

Past: Key positions at renowned organizations including Samsung, LG, Videocon, Dish TV Godrej, and BPL. 

Present: Chief Executive Officer  

Shital Gupta has recently assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at KAFF India, a leading kitchen appliance manufacturer. In his capacity as CEO of Kaff Appliances India Pvt Ltd, Gupta will spearhead the company’s operations.  

With over thirty years of experience in the consumer electronics and home appliances sector, Gupta has held key positions at renowned organizations including Samsung, LG, Videocon, Dish TV Godrej, and BPL.  

  1. IndiaFirst Life Insurance has appointed a new CEO and Managing Director 

Past: Deputy CEO 

Present: CEO and Managing Director 

The Board of IndiaFirst Life Insurance has approved the appointment of Rushabh Gandhi, presently Deputy CEO of the Company, as the MD & CEO with effect from July 01, 2024 or the date of regulatory approval(s), whichever is later. The incumbent MD & CEO, Ms. R.M. Vishakha, will superannuate from the services of the Company on June 30, 2024. 

Mr. Gandhi has been one of the key driving forces and an integral part of the IndiaFirst Life’s growth story. His sharp business acumen and strategic thinking coupled with a fair and humane approach has helped IndiaFirst Life to steadily gain market share and mind share of stakeholders.  

He is a financial services industry leader with over 29 years of experience across national and international markets. Mr. Rushabh Gandhi has been bestowed with multiple awards such as the Navabharat Transformational Leader of the Year 2022, Elets BFSI Gamechanger Award 2022 for Visionary Leadership, and The Indian Achievers’ Award 21-22 for Business Leadership amongst others. Mr. Rushabh Gandhi is an alumnus of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and INSEAD, Fontainebleau. 

  1. R. Lakshmi Kanth Rao has been appointed as an Executive Director by the RBI 

Past: Chief General Manager-in-charge in the Department of Regulation 

Present: Executive Director 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed R. Lakshmi Kanth Rao as Executive Director (ED), effective from May 10. 

Before becoming ED, Rao was chief general manager-in-charge in the Department of Regulation. In his new capacity, Rao will oversee functions including Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation, Right to Information Act (FAA), and the Department of Communication. 

Rao brings with him more than thirty years of experience within the Reserve Bank, with a background in areas such as Regulation of Banks and NBFCs, Supervision of Banks, and Consumer Protection. He has previously served as the Banking Ombudsman at RBI Chennai and as Regional Director of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow. Additionally, Rao has contributed as a member of various Committees and Working Groups, actively participating in policy formulation. 

A graduate in commerce, Rao also holds a master’s degree in business administration (Finance) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, and a Diploma in TIRM (IIBF).  

  1. Susheel Kaul is now the MD & President of the Textiles Cluster at Arvind Limited

Arvind Limited, India’s largest textile-to-technology conglomerate, has named Susheel Kaul as its new Managing Director & President – Textile Cluster, effective April 1. 

Kaul, presently serving as the President & CEO of Textiles and Apparels at Arvind, brings extensive experience and leadership to his new position. With over 30 years in the textile and apparel sector, Kaul has showcased a profound understanding of the industry. 

In his expanded role, Kaul will uphold Arvind’s strategic objectives, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and customer-centricity. 

“It’s an honor to lead an organization renowned for its excellence and innovation. I am eager to build upon our achievements, fostering sustained growth and value for our stakeholders,” expressed Kaul.  

  1. Danone India appoints Shashi Ranjan as MD 

Past: President & Country Head 

Present: Managing Director 

Danone has appointed Shashi Ranjan as the Managing Director for Danone India, effective May 10. With over twenty years of experience in corporate leadership, strategic management, and organizational transformation, Ranjan brings valuable expertise to drive Danone’s growth and innovation in the dynamic Indian market. In his new role, Ranjan will lead Danone’s strategic initiatives in India, with a focus on expanding the company’s presence, strengthening partnerships, and fostering sustainable growth. 

Before joining Danone India, Ranjan served as President & Country Head of Sebamed in India. Prior to that, he held significant roles at Johnson & Johnson, McKinsey & Company, and IBM Consulting. Additionally, he has served the Government in various general administration and strategy roles across different regions of India. 

Christian Stammkoetter, President of AMEA at Danone, commented on the appointment, stating, “Shashi Ranjan’s extensive experience and proven track record in the consumer goods industry make him the ideal candidate to drive Danone’s growth and innovation agenda in this crucial market.”  

  1. Alvarez and Marsal India appoints Aparna Chopra as executive director

Alvarez & Marsal India, a professional services firm, has named Aparna Chopra as Executive Director within the Retail and Consumer Products practice. 

Bringing 25 years of experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail, and online businesses, Ms. Chopra has operated in various markets including India, the UK, EMEA, North Africa, and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining A&M, she held positions such as Business Head of Breakfast Cereals and Head of Sustainability & Climate Change at Nestle South Asia. 

Ms. Chopra has been involved in diverse engagements ranging from portfolio management to new business leadership and talent pool establishment. She has also spearheaded launches, market entries for new brands, distribution channels, and transformational pricing strategies for companies like Nestle, YUM Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell), Costa Coffee, and Lenskart.com.

  1. Tata Communications appoints Aman Gupta as new CHRO 

Past: Vice President of Global Head Compensation and Benefits and Business HR 

Present: CHRO 

In a significant leadership transition, Aadesh Goyal, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Tata Communications, will retire on June 30, 2024, after 14 years of exemplary service, according to a regulatory filing. 

Succeeding Goyal will be Aman Gupta, currently serving as Tata Communications’ Vice President of Global Head Compensation and Benefits and Business HR. Gupta’s extensive background and proficiency in human resources are expected to play a pivotal role in guiding the company’s human capital strategy going forward. 

The filing also announced the promotion of Mukul Kumar, Head of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), to Senior Management Personnel, effective July 1, 2024. With a distinguished career as a global human resources leader, Goyal served as CHRO at SAP for over four years before joining Tata Communications. 

  1. Samsung Electronics has appointed Rishabh Nagpal as its new Chief People Officer 

Past: HR Business Partner Leader and HR Center of Excellence Leader in leading global IT 

Present: Chief People Officer 

Rishabh Nagpal has been promoted to the role of Chief People Officer at Samsung Electronics, effective May. He initially joined the company in 2024 as Senior Director of HR, serving in that capacity for nearly a decade. 

With over 25 years of experience as an HR Business Partner Leader and HR Center of Excellence Leader in leading global IT, Telecom/Hi-Tech, and Consumer Sales organizations based in Gurugram, Nagpal has held key positions at Huawei Telecommunication (India), IBM, Tech Mahindra, and Dell Perot Systems. 

Nagpal holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the Delhi School of Economics.
