Rahul Gandhi alleges ED plans raid against him, says he’s “waiting with open arms”

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has claimed that the Union government is planning an Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid against him. According to Gandhi, insiders from the ED tipped him off about the impending raid.

In a social media post, Gandhi speculated that his recent speech in Parliament on the Union Budget may have triggered this response. “Apparently, 2 in 1 didn’t like my Chakravyuh speech,” he remarked, referencing his criticism of the budget. Gandhi also taunted the central agency, saying he is waiting for them “with open arms” and offered, “Chai and biscuits on me.”

During his parliamentary address, Gandhi accused the government of entrapping the public in a ‘chakravyuh,’ a reference to a complex battle formation. He criticized the budget for betraying the middle class by increasing taxes on long-term and short-term capital gains and removing indexation benefits.

Gandhi questioned why various segments of society, including BJP leaders, ministers, farmers, and youth, were fearful, attributing it to six individuals who he claimed control the country’s affairs. He specifically named Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other key figures as part of this controlling group.

On social media, Gandhi further elaborated on his “chakravyuh” analogy, likening it to a lotus-shaped formation designed to trap various societal groups. He accused the government of creating an environment of unemployment, debt, tax terrorism, and injustice.

Gandhi highlighted that the education budget is at its lowest in 20 years, criticizing the Finance Minister for not addressing the issue of widespread paper leaks affecting students. He concluded by asserting that the INDIA bloc is committed to breaking this “chakravyuh” and will fight to replace it with an atmosphere of fairness and opportunity.
