Union Minister Piyush Goyal Launches BHASKAR Portal

One-stop solution for startups

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has unveiled the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR) today in New Delhi. Part of the ‘Startup India’ initiative, BHASKAR is a digital platform designed to unify India’s rapidly expanding startup ecosystem by fostering collaboration, cooperation, and competition among entrepreneurs.

Rising sun to bring innovators under single roof 

BHASKAR, meaning “Rising Sun,” symbolizes growth and enlightenment, and aims to bring together innovators, disruptors, and dreamers. During his keynote address, Shri Goyal highlighted that the platform would help entrepreneurs build hope, aspirations, and success by enabling knowledge sharing and collaboration. The platform is set to democratize the startup ecosystem, making it more accessible and interconnected, especially for regional startups in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

BHASKAR will help Indian startups to become Independent 

Emphasizing the government’s focus on empowering startups, Goyal said the platform would help Indian startups become independent while maintaining integrity, quality, and conviction. He urged that BHASKAR should become a one-stop digital solution for the entire startup ecosystem, streamlining data exchange and interactions through user-friendly technology. The Minister also expressed hopes for an improvised BHASKAR 2.0 version with enhanced features soon.

The initiative was praised by Secretary DPIIT, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, who noted that BHASKAR will act as a catalyst for innovation and provide a platform for greater connectivity among startups, investors, mentors, and service providers. Joint Secretary Sanjiv also added that the platform will be a guiding light, offering resources to help startups navigate challenges and seize opportunities in a dynamic market.

1.5 lakh startup on single click 

BHASKAR is set to revolutionize India’s startup ecosystem, bringing together over 1.4 lakh DPIIT-recognized startups, and creating a unified platform for collaboration, innovation, and growth. The platform’s unique features include dynamic networking tools, industry alliances, and enhanced visibility, along with personalized digital identification for seamless access to resources.

BHASKAR aims to become the world’s largest digital registry for startups, offering stakeholders across various sectors and regions a single roof for collaboration and growth, further cementing India’s position as a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.
