Sanjeev Juneja embarked on his entrepreneurial journey with just ₹2000 borrowed from his mother after his father’s passing. Armed with his father’s Ayurvedic knowledge, gleaned from his small clinic in Ambala, Punjab, Sanjeev set out to honour his father’s legacy. In 1999, he took the bold step to expand his father’s inheritance, utilizing the insights gained from his father’s expertise in Ayurveda.

In 2003, Sanjeev Juneja launched Royal Capsules, marking the genesis of his Ayurvedic product empire. Building on its success, he ventured into the hair care segment in 2009 with the launch of Kesh King Hair Oil. This revolutionary product quickly gained traction in the market, addressing hair fall and graying issues effectively. Despite initial challenges, Sanjeev pioneered a door-to-door sales strategy, laying the foundation for Kesh King’s widespread popularity.

The endorsement of Kesh King by Bollywood icon Juhi Chawla catapulted its success to new heights, with advertisements featuring prominently on television and in newspapers. The brand’s comprehensive range, including hair oil, shampoo, and Ayurvedic capsules, resonated with consumers, contributing significantly to its sales.

In 2015, FMCG giant Emami Limited recognized the immense potential of Kesh King and acquired the hair care business for a staggering $262 million, marking a historic milestone in the FMCG industry. Sanjeev Juneja’s foresight, perseverance, and commitment to quality transformed Kesh King into a household name, setting a benchmark for success in the Indian market.
