4th Edition of Most Preferred Workplace

Talk to any given employee from a random organisation of your choice, and chances are you’ll hear the same travails repeated ad infinitum; most professionals today lament the lack of job flexibility, are wary of the looming threat of AI, and are acutely aware of the need to reskill and upskill at a personal level. Add to the mix the fluid nature of organisational priorities shifting the goalposts oh-so-regularly, and you have the perfect recipe for a wiorried workforce.

Little wonder that talent leaders report feeling overwhelmed. Randstad’s 2024 Talent Trends research, 72% say they are concerned about the skills gap. 56% feel they’re not keeping up with the rapid speed of digital transformation, while 64% report they’re being pressured to do more with less this year. If there’s a silver lining in their report, it’s that 80% of leaders felt they are well on their way to becoming skills-based organizations, a commendable feat.

Among the talent pool too, issues are festering. The Gallup 2024 State of the Global Workplace report reveals that only 14% of Indian employees feel they are “thriving,” while 86% are “struggling” or “suffering”. This aligns with figures across South Asia, with just 15% of the workforce saying they are “thriving”. One particularly concerning finding from the report is the high incidence of daily anger among Indian employees. A staggering 35% of respondents from India admitted to experiencing anger on a daily basis – the highest rate in the South Asian region. Despite the struggles, India maintained a high employee engagement rate of 32%, well above the global average of 23%.

Clearly, these are challenging times for all. Workplaces are evolving rapidly to meet the diverse needs of the day, embracing innovative models to serve both customers and employees effectively. Prioritizing employee wellbeing and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential if these concerning trends are to be reversed. Additionally, maximizing productivity, engaging talent, and adapting to evolving needs are key drivers of growth, and a few leaders understand this better than most. Through its research-driven and industry-focused initiative Most Preferred Workplace, Team Marksmen aims to recognize and promote high-trust, high-performance cultures, turning the spotlight on companies that excel in providing exceptional working environments. By conducting a rigorous, industry-wide research that appraised organisations on parameters such as work-life balance, employee centricity, diversity, equity & inclusion, organisational purpose, reskilling and upskilling initiatives, career development and rewards this unique platform arrived at an elite shortlist of organisations leading the charge for employee wellbeing and talent maximisation.

Sharing his take in the build-up to this gala event, Rajesh Khubchandani, Co-founder and CEO of Team Marksmen Network had this to say. “Fostering a thriving workplace culture is paramount for attracting and retaining top talent.
